Our Story
906 Tackle Co. was founded and is proudly run out of Ontonagon County, Michigan — a place surrounded by some of the best fishing waters in the Midwest. With Lake Superior on our doorstep and countless inland lakes and rivers around us, fishing has always been part of our lives.
We grew up as bass fishermen, spending our time learning the craft and testing ourselves on the local lakes. Over time, we discovered musky fishing — and from that first encounter, it’s been an addiction ever since. The pursuit of muskies demanded stronger tackle, tougher gear, and lures built for power and endurance. That passion for chasing apex predators is what inspired the creation of 906 Tackle Co.

906 Tackle Co. was born in the Upper Peninsula with one simple goal: to build high-quality musky and pike bucktails that anglers can trust. Every bait is hand-crafted and assembled using premium components designed to handle the punishment of big fish and heavy water.
We specialize in proven blade combinations — from Double 10s all the way down to Double 5s and everything in-between — and offer a variety of skirt materials including Flashabou, Bucktail, and Marabou. Each design is tested to maximize flash, vibration, and durability so you can fish with confidence, whether you’re chasing trophies on your home lake or exploring new waters.
Beyond our standard lineup, we also provide custom bucktail builds, letting you choose blade sizes (from #5 to #12), skirt materials, color schemes, and even custom weighting to dial in the exact action and depth you need.

At 906 Tackle Co., we know every angler has a “go-to” color combo or blade setup that gives them confidence on the water. That’s why we offer fully customizable bucktails built to your exact specifications.
You can choose blade sizes from #5 all the way up to #12, with options in Colorado, Indiana, or Willow styles. Pick your skirt material — Flashabou, Bucktail, or Marabou — and design it in a wide variety of color combinations. We also offer custom weighting options, so your bait can run at the exact depth you need, whether it’s a shallow-water burner or a deep slow-roller.
Every custom order is tied, assembled, and tested here in the U.P. with the same premium components we use in our production lineup, ensuring durability, performance, and fish-catching power.
